Terri A. Amidon

Terri Amidon unexpectedly passed away on September 6, 2022 in Vancouver following an accident. Born on March 30, 1947, Terri was preceded in death by her father Bernard Curly Wold (d. 1987) and stepmother Vyda Wold (d. 1993) who raised her in Anaconda, MT. Terri's father Curly Wold and grandmother Sarah Kemery Wold (d.1997) were Lakota and had allottee numbers with the Crow Creek tribe in South Dakota. She was proud of her heritage and strong family.Life in a small town in Montana was an adventure. Her favorite memory of Anaconda was watching movies at the Washoe Theater. She graduated with top grades at Anaconda High School in 1965 and moved to Idaho where she married Dan Quinn. They traveled the west and worked in a fish-processing plant in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. She and Dan had a pet bear that they traveled. She eventually married Joe Amidon (d. 2007) and lived in several Midwest states as an Airforce wife. Terri ultimately settled in Vancouver, WA and raised three children, Lorin Amidon Durand of Vermont, Lisa Amidon of Vancouver, and Brent Amidon (d. 1989). Terri also helped raise grand-nephew Alex Watkins of Vancouver.Terri had ten siblings: Jim Peters, Robin Haugen, Reenie (Maureen) Anderson, Patty Knadler, Bobbi McHugh, Bernie Webster Deagle (d. 2015), Michael Wold (d. 1951), Larry Peters (d. 1997), Bob Meredith (d. 1980), and Harold Meredith (d. 1993). She leaves behind her dear Aunt Wenonah Jones, age 101. Terri was close with her in-laws: "Mom" Jeanette Judkins Dunkin, Cathy Kimball Hale, Scott Kimball, Richard Kimball, Jodi Kimball Scanlon, and Dan's wife LeAnn Quinn. With over 100 nieces and nephews, Terri loved visiting family. Her extended-family include beloved dogs: Butch, Omar, Cleo, and Sasha.In retirement, Terri split her time between Vancouver and Vermont where she enjoyed time with her granddaughters Cordelia,15, and Gwendolyne Durand,11. When in Vermont she enjoyed live theater, board games, and pretend-café with Gwendolyne. She ran errands with son-in-law Jean-Paul Durand and loved his French cooking. Being in Vermont gave her the opportunity to explore the east coast, where she vacationed in Maine, Quebec, Boston, NYC, and DC. She once visited Paris and southern France with her daughters for Lorin and Jean-Paul's wedding.Terri was easily the sweetest person you could know. Her legacy includes a collection of baked good recipes and a quest for frugal living.
