RoseMarie Joner Collins

RoseMarie Joner Collins, age 81, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at her home, surrounded by loving family. On June 10, 1939, RoseMarie was born to Robert Theo Joner, Sr. and Lillian Luella Lenora Hansen in Vancouver, WA. She was a twin, with her sister Esther Lorraine arriving one hour and twelve minutes earlier. RoseMarie was a lifelong resident of Vancouver and counted herself lucky to live on the same street her whole life! RoseMarie graduated from Evergreen High School in 1957. Afterwards, she attended business school in Vancouver, going on to work as a private secretary at Nicolai Door and Vancouver Plywood. On Dec. 9, 1967, RoseMarie married Ace Wesley Collins in Vancouver. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Oakland Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on May 15, 1975. Much of RoseMarie's life was spent in loving service to her family. She was active in volunteer work within the community and in her local church. Later in life, RoseMarie returned to school, taking various computer courses at Clark College. She was also a member of the Clark County Quilter's Guild, Master Clothiers, and a local ukulele club. RoseMarie was a dedicated servant within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she was a member of the Oakhurst Ward in the Vancouver Stake. After her baptism in the Church with her husband in 1973, she fulfilled many assignments in various organizations within the church. In 1999, RoseMarie and her husband Ace served an 18-month service mission in Salt Lake City, UT, at the largest genealogical library in the world. This was a dream come true for RoseMarie! RoseMarie and Ace served another service mission at the local employment center here in Vancouver. In recent years, she served as the Director at the local Family History Center, encouraging others to find their family. These service opportunities created so much happiness and fulfillment in RoseMarie's life. Survivors include her husband, Ace; three daughters, Coleen Collins, Deon (Daniel) Bird, and Alyse Collins, all of Vancouver; five fantastic grandsons; brother, Michael (Lisa) Joner of Spanish Fork, UT; sister, Shawna (Wayne) Martin of Springville, UT; and many amazing nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, and her younger brother, Robert Theo, Jr. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 9 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (10509 SE 5th Street, Vancouver). Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Vancouver.
