Priscilla J. Huitt

Priscilla Jean Huitt, age 74, passed away Thursday, June 3rd 2021 at Community Home Health and Hospice in Longview, WA. At the time of her death, Prissy resided in Longview, WA with her brother-in-law Rodney Ingersoll. Patricia Ann (Patty) her identical twin "womb-mate" sister were born in Medford, OR on May 15, 1947 to Stephen and Ida May Huitt. Prissy and Patty came home to join an older sister Karen Diana. Two and a half years later, brother Dana Stephen joined the family. Prissy graduated GBHS with the Class of 1965 and decided to attend Bethany Bible College but soon discovered she was homesick and returned to Gold Beach. She found work at U.S. Plywood where her father Stephen worked. In August of 1967, Prissy married Frank Gray, and after six years her son Brett Adam Gray was born. In 1977, Prissy began life as a single mother to Brett. Brett's maternal grandparents Stephen and Ida May Huitt began living with Prissy and Brett. At this time, Prissy received a job promotion and transferred to Portland, OR. After a number of years, in 1989 Prissy received another federal job promotion with Farmer's Home Administration in Washington, DC. She and Brett remained there for two years before transferring back to Portland, OR. During her years, Prissy enjoyed Volkswalking with a number of friends, volunteering time with Christian Deaf Fellowship, volunteering her time at retreats for Deaf-Blind folks. She helped as a bookkeeper at her church, participating in many church activities. Above all, Prissy enjoyed water aerobics with Patty and other friends at the YMCA swimming pool in Longview. After the exercise, Prissy and Patty often stopped in at Starbucks for a tasty beverage! Can we mention a passion for shopping? Prissy and Patty both loved a bargain and their credo was "Shop till you drop!" Oh, and Jafra! Prissy loved this particular line of cosmetics and was a Jafra representative for a good number of years. Prissy was a devout woman of faith and even in these past few difficult months, she discovered much comfort in God, and would say that her life was in His control. Prissy loved and was generous with her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Prissy is survived by son Brett and his wife Sarah, brother-in-law Rodney Ingersoll, brother Dana,Huitt and sister Karen Strawn. Many cousins, nieces, nephews and longtime friends survive Prissy.
