Minerva Cerrillo Valdez

Minerva Cerrillo Valdez made her transition peacefully the morning of January 27, 2021, surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren. Born in Crystal City, Texas on February 24, 1947, she was the eldest daughter born to Jose and Evangelina Cerrillo. She married the love of her life Juan Valdez on November 29, 1969 in Othello, WA. They were married for 51 years. They had 5 children 2 girls (Cathy & Angie) and 3 boys (Johnny, Andy, Albert). Mom worked hard at every job she had and still made time to raise her children and care for her family. She was an amazing person who would give everything she had to help and support her family and friends. She was a wealth of knowledge and support to many. She gave each of us her whole heart, laughter, and memories to hold onto. She loved us unconditionally. She enjoyed watching CNN and Hallmark Movies. She also spent a lot of time crocheting things for her family. She was fond of the animals on the farm where she lived. She enjoyed bargain shopping with her daughters and husband. She enjoyed her vacations and camping trips with her family. She looked forward to her sister annual trip every October. Mom had such a beautiful soul; she loved with her whole heart and was loved by so many in return. Minerva Valdez is survived by her husband Juan Valdez, children Cathy McCaleb (Patrick), Johnny Valdez, Andy Valdez, Albert Valdez (Melissa), and Angie Valdez. Grandchildren Angela, Alicia, Skylyn, JJ, Christian, Alexis, Kiara, Patrick Jr., Pedro, Gavin, Shayla, Dimitri, Maven, and Cyrus. Great-granddaughter Audrey. She is also survived by sisters Magdalena Gutierrez, Oralia Cerrillo, Guadalupe Evans, Yolanda Garza, Patricia Salinas and brothers Mauricio Cerrillo, Arnold Cerrillo, Jose Jr. Cerrillo, Armando Cerrillo. Minerva Valdez is preceded in death by her parents Jose and Evangelina Cerrillo, and her sisters Velma and Hilda. We are saddened to see our precious mother leave so suddenly. Mom will always be near; she will walk beside us and watch over us every day! She brought so much happiness to all our lives, her kindness, her infectious smile, her witty comebacks, the energy she brought with her as she entered any room will never be forgotten. God blessed our family with the most amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Our mother will continue to live forever through us and in the loving memories she shared with each one of us. We love and miss you so much Mom, Rest in Perfect Peace with GOD.
