Pinzone was born on November 17th, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Russell and Theresa Pinzone. He passed away peacefully on March 13th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, and leaves behind a legacy of dedication, service, and love. Joe is survived by his devoted children: Scott (Mary), Kim Weed (David), Holly Glover (Jack), and Joseph C. (Kelly). His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren: David Weed II (Amanda), Christina Weed (Conor), Alyssa Weed (Harrison), Brynne Weed; Christopher and Nicholas Glover; and Dominic, Joseph J., and Arielle Pinzone. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Emily Weed, David Weed III, Violet Saltz, and Maxine Corum. He is further survived by his brothers Michael and Russell Pinzone. Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Gerry, and his sisters Mary Mack and Noretta Penkalski. After graduating from Independence High School in 1950, Joe honorably served in the Army for two years. He then graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. His early career included teaching high school for three years before transitioning to a role as a casualty adjuster for Nationwide Insurance. In 1964, Joe embarked on a significant chapter with RCA Corporation, a journey that spanned 15 years and took his family across the country from Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Lewiston and Auburn, Maine; Marion, Indiana; to Anchorage, Alaska. In 1979, he joined the Alaska/Teamster Employer Pension Trust, which led him to Palm Springs, California. There, he served as President and Project Manager for the development of Desert Horizons Country Club, a sprawling 320-acre project featuring a 40,000 sq. ft. clubhouse, championship golf course, and numerous condominiums. Returning to RCA in 1985, Joe played a key role in establishing a joint venture with Sharp Corporation of Japan, ultimately leading to the creation of RCA/Sharp Microelectronics Technology, a silicon wafer manufacturing facility in Camas, Washington. He retired in 2000 as Vice President of Corporate Affairs. Joe was deeply committed to community service. In Washington, he served on numerous boards and committees, including:Board Chairman and temporary President, Vancouver Chamber of CommerceBoard Member, Clark College FoundationBoard Member, Association of Washington BusinessBoard Member, Washington State Community Economic Revitalization BoardBoard Member, Washington State Workforce Training and Coordination BoardBoard Member, Washington State Personnel Resources BoardBoard Member, Clark County Economic Development CouncilBoard Member, Children's Northwest (an affiliate of ESD 112) His passion for golf led him to develop two highly successful charity tournaments. In Palm Springs, he partnered with Mimi Albert, Sara O'Meara, and Alaska Teamster Local 959 to host a Pro/Am Charity tournament at Desert Horizons. The tournament attracted celebrities (e.g., President Gerald Ford, Bob Hope, Charlie Pride, and William Demarest) and professional athletes (e.g., Gay Brewer and Fred Couples) for the benefit of Childhelp USA. Later, with the support of Lisa Gibert (former Chief Financial Officer and President of the Clark College Foundation) and the staff of the Clark College Foundation, he established a successful tournament at Royal Oaks Country Club in Vancouver, Washington. Both tournaments raised significant funds for their respective causes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Gerry Pinzone Nursing Scholarship, in care of The Clark College Foundation, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver, WA 98663-3598. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025, at Holy Redeemer, located at 17010 NE 9th Street, Vancouver, WA 98684. The Rosary begins at 10:30 AM, followed by a mass at 11:00 AM, and a reception at 12:00 PM.
