Bradford Grady Ross

Bradford "Brad" Grady Ross Born October 2, 1937 in North Bend, Oregon Died February 18, 2018, Vancouver WA. The son of Winfield Spencer "Spenny" Ross and Bernice Alene Erickson. Brad lived in Coquille until the family moved to Los Angeles in the 1940s. They moved later to Myrtle Point, Oregon where he attended Jr. High and graduated from Myrtle Point High School in 1956. He played basketball for the Bobcats. He majored in Journalism at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon where he graduated. He was a member of the fraternity, Phi Beta Tau and excelled in tennis while playing for the school. He met and married Terri Traughber while attending Pacific University. He worked for North Bend News and became the editor of The Coquille Valley Sentinel on three separate occasions. He also worked in public relations at Southwestern Oregon Community College and a non-profit organization called Community Action, and in Marketing for Security Bank of Coos County. Brad served as the Coquille Bleacher Club president for five years. Brad loved various sports and covered numerous sporting events as a journalist. He loved working in the dark room as black and white photography was one passion in life. His favorite life-long passion was fishing, especially the Rogue and Sixes rivers. Brad made many, many friends over the years. Brad was proceeded in death by his Father, Spenny, in March of 1988, his sister Sharon in December of 2007, and his mother, Bernice, in May of 2008. Brad is survived by his three children, son Blair and his wife Jana of Harrison, Idaho, daughter Paige and her husband Aredha of Battle Ground, Washington, and son Chris and his wife Elyna of Portland, Oregon, niece Debi and her husband Buzz, nephew Darin, and niece Lori and her husband Eddie, and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. An informal Memorial Service will be held at: Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Chapel on Sunday, February 25, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Hospitality room.
