William Francis Toohey

Bill Toohey was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed. William Francis Toohey was born in Compton, California, December 7, 1942 to Mary Virginia and Raymond Leroy Toohey. Bill's father gave his life in the last days of World War II. His mother, Virginia, later married Clark Eberhart who provided a loving home for the family. In the early years, Bill attended St. Anthony's High School, where he met and later married his loving wife of 60 years, Audrey. In 1998, Bill and Audrey moved to the Pacific Northwest where they created so many wonderful memories with family and friends from church. Bill loved his dog Daisy and took pleasure in gardening, cooking and golfing with friends. In later years, Bill and Audrey enjoyed exploring the Pacific Northwest. Bill's faith in God and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was his primary focus. Always an avid reader, he enjoyed reading books about his faith, politics, soldiers, war stories, and American history. William Francis Toohey, died April 15th in Vancouver, Washington, having spent his final days surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife Audrey; children; daughter Carrie (Lake) Johnson; sons, William (Cora) Toohey; David Toohey, Joseph Toohey (deceased), and grandchildren, Lake Jr, (Shenee'), Joshua, Kyle; great grandchildren; Ethan, Brayden, Caidence, Lucas, Hazel, and Lewis; brothers Michael (deceased) (Norma), Hank (Betty), Pat (Joyce), nieces, nephews; Canfield cousins Don, Barbara, Margie, Sue, Richard, Jim and so many great friends: Tita and Cesar,, Bill Renner, Travis, Mike and Annie, Jon and Dee, Ed Brands and many others. Bill's strength, sense of humor and love for a spirited conversation will be greatly missed. "To show great love for God and our neighbor, we need not do great things.
