Virgina Hope Bott

VIRGINIA HOPE BOTT April 3, 1922 ~ December 18, 2009 Virginia Hope Bott passed away peacefully at the age of 87 with her three adoring children at her side on December 18, 2009. Virginia was born April 3, 1922 in Vulcan, Alberta Canada as a U.S. citizen to Jordan and Rachel (Poelke) Bush. Her family later moved to Northern Idaho in 1926 where her father worked as a hard-rock silver miner in Gem, ID and her mother was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; and one older brother, Glen Bush. Virginia Bush graduated from high school in Wallace, Idaho in 1939 and true to her adventurous spirit soon traveled to Los Angeles, CA where she received a Bachelor's Degree with honors in Business Administration from Woodbury Business College in 1943. While in L.A. she met and later married Carroll A. Bott in 1945 and they soon made Vancouver, WA their home the following year. Virginia retired from the work she loved as Disbursements Accountant for Clark County PUD in July 1981 after 28 years of service. During her retirement she enjoyed sewing, decorating, reading, music, and most important to her ... sharing her life with her loving family and many close friends. She was also active throughout her adult life with her beloved Sorority Sisters of the Beta Sigma Phi chapter of Vancouver. Virginia lived each day unselfishly, placing the well-being of others before her own and sacrificed often in doing so. All those who knew her would certainly agree that she was one of the loveliest people this world will ever know! She was very independent, strong-willed, cheerful and bright until the end. She will always remain an inspiration to her family and friends as her loving spirit will continue to shine in our hearts. Survivors include two sons; one very special "daughter"; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her children are, Bruce Bott of British Columbia, Kent Bott of Vancouver, WA and "daughter"-in-law, Judy Buckholz of Vancouver, WA. Her local family includes her granddaughter, Jennifer (Bott) Lange and husband Greg and their children, Nathan and Madison of Camas, WA; and her grandson, Jordan Bott and wife Dawn and their children, Christian and Rebecca of Vancouver, WA. Her Canadian family includes granddaughters, Anastasia Bott of Victoria, BC, Haley Bott and her son, Ethan Adams of Salt Spring Island, BC and Marina Galay-Bott of Vancouver, BC; and our special family member, Patricia Sarazin of Vancouver, BC. The entire Bott family would like to acknowledge and thank Mom's wonderful "second family" ... Lyle and Wilma Chaffee along with all of their children and grandchildren as they all held a very special place in Mom's generous heart. An Open House Celebration of Virginia Hope's life will be hosted by her family at her home for her many great friends on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
