Vicki Rae Wayrynen

Vicki Rae Wayrynen passed away peacefully at the Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver, Washington with her loving husband Dale by her side. She was born to John and Thelma McAndrews on March 19, 1947, in Portland, Oregon. Vicki graduated from Franklin High School. Vicki married Dale Wayrynen in 1965. They had two children and were happily married for over 59 years. Vicki and Dale, with their two children, moved to Vancouver in 1979 to open a convenience store called Dale's Brookside Market. Vicki worked side by side with her husband during 10 years of ownership. After the selling of the store, Vicki went back to being a homemaker. Vicki loved working in her yard and spending time with her four grandchildren, Meghan, Ashley, Kienen, Eilish, and her great-grandson Corbin. Vicki always had special moments with each of them. Whether it was a birthday or a sporting event, she would be there to celebrate or cheer them on. She loved to take them shopping. Vicki's husband, Dale, started a new career as a salesman for Vancouver Oil Company representing Chevron and Texaco products. It allowed them to travel to special events around the United States. Dale retired from Vancouver Oil Company in 2014. Vicki and Dale spent a lot of time on their property in Ocean Park, Washington. Vicki loved the beach and made many friends on the peninsula. In between trips from Vancouver and Ocean Park, they enjoyed taking cruises. Vicki was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. She loved supporting church events. She also helped beautify the church with the planting of spring flowers. Vicki always tried to find the good in people and support them in their time of need. Everyone who knew Vicki will never forget her warmth, goodness, openheartedness and unconditional love for her family as well as her friends. She will be deeply missed. Vicki is survived by her husband Dale and their son Troy Wayrynen and daughter Lisa Cearley. She also has four grandchildren, Meghan, Ashley, Kienen, Eilish, and one great-grandson, Corbin. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, John McAndrews and Tom McAndrews and her sister, JoAnn Russum.
