Velda Marie Bridger

Velda Marie Bridger was born in Encampment, Wyoming on January 25, 1939 and Passed away on April 6, 2020 in Vancouver, Washington. She passed away due to complications from Heart disease and Diabetes in her home. She moved to Washington 1941 lived in Ridgefield, Meadow Glade and then Vancouver with her parents, Reuben Amos Nelson and Bessie Minnie Nelson(Pantle) Sister Zelda Darlene Root(Nelson) and Brother Lawrence Wilfred Nelson. She was the youngest of the 3 children. She went to Fir Grove Seventh Day Adventist School then to Schumway Junior High School for a short time, All in Vancouver Washington, then she finish her GED through Correspondence School. In 1955 she moved to Salem with Her sister Zelda and friend Delores. She worked as a nurses assistant at Deacon Hospital. While in Salem she work on her professional roller skating with Buck Rosso. She moved back to Vancouver May 14, 1957. Married Billy Bruce Bridger May 29, 1957 and was married to him for 21 years. Through her life she loved to Play organ at church and at home, roller skate, bowl, play pool, Crochet, Decorate her house inside and out, feed the birds, go to the beach and attend car shows. She worked as a bartender and bookkeeper most of her life. Her biggest success in life was being a Mom, Grandma, Sister, Daughter and Wife. She was always there for you if you needed anything. She offered her love and understanding always!!! She had 3 Children, Kenny Bruce Bridger, Keith Bruce Bridger and Kathy Marie Markham(Bridger), 15 grandchildren, 23 ½ great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. In this unusual time and circumstances Evergreen Memorial Gardens has gone above and beyond so we can see her one more time and get closure during this time of social distancing and everything being shut down. There will be a drive by viewing for anyone that wants to come(Everyone must stay in their cars) at 12-1pm on Saturday April 25, 2020 @ Evergreen Memorial Gardens 1101 NE 112th Ave, Vancouver Wa. The Service will be held on Monday April 27, 2020 but is limited to children only.
