Toni Linnae Travis-Schmid

Toni Linnae Travis-Schmid, 74, died April 19, 2020, after enduring a battle with Alzheimer's for many years...her fight against this disease was courageous and honorable. Toni was born on June 26, 1945 in Edmonton, Canada....her first 2 years of life were spent in an orphanage until she was adopted by an American couple, Linton and Glendeen Davis. She was raised in San Rafael, California and graduated college with her associate's degree from San Rafael Jr. College. Throughout her life, Toni has had many successful endeavors..........after college she went on to model and became certified in Cosmetology, owning and managing a chain of hair salons. She also owned and managed a grocery and feed store. Toni had many passions in her life....fishing, hunting, snow skiing, water skiing and of course golf! Toni loved golf and was a great player, she had a hole in one and a 9 hole par round to add to her many triumphs. She also enjoyed racquetball...and was a nationally ranked racquetball player at one time....she was an avid runner, participating in many competitions over her years including Hood to Coast, the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure and many others. Toni enjoyed college football and was an Oregon Duck fan! A 25 year resident of Vancouver, she met Tony Schmid in 1997, they were married September 23, 2000. Tony and Toni resided in Vancouver, enjoying their home together, their dogs "Red" and "Annie", their travels, golf, gardening and their love for one another. They were also a successful Real Estate Team! Toni will be remembered for so many things....her passion for life, her love for her family and for her Grandchildren, her sincerity, warmth, humor, energy, work ethic and compassion for others! Her family will miss all of these things and more...we will cherish the memories we have of Toni as a healthy, energetic and beautiful woman and also the many beautiful moments that we shared with Toni in her final years....the quiet, dependent, courageous and beautiful woman that left this earth.
