SHEILA RENEE (MOBLEY) COURTNEY January 8, 1973 ~ October 19, 2011 Sheila Renee Courtney, 38, devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend lost her battle with breast cancer, surrounded by family and friends, on October 19, 2011. Born January 8, 1973 in Vancouver, WA, Sheila graduated from Fort Vancouver High School in 1991, and later received her Associate of Science in Nursing degree from Clark College. Sheila worked as a registered nurse at Sunnyside Kaiser before finding her true passion as a labor and delivery nurse at Southwest Washington Medical Center, where she spent her last 11 and a half years. In 1993, Sheila married her best friend, Claud Courtney, and together they brought two beautiful daughters into this world; Grace Elizabeth and Hayley Elisa. Along with her dedication to nursing, Sheila was truly committed to her family and friends. Always a selfless person, she spent endless hours volunteering at her daughters schools and cheering her daughters and nieces on at their numerous sporting events. She loved gardening, scrapbooking, playing games, baking, and camping. Sheila will be remembered by all for her positive attitude, her ability to make people laugh, and her endless courage that will serve as an inspiration to all. Sheila is survived by her husband of 18 years, Claud, at home in Washougal; daughters, Grace and Hayley at home; parents, Diane and Ron Hage of Washougal; father, Robert Mobley of Washougal; sisters, Michelle (Ryan) Seekins of Vancouver and Janice (Jason) Broten of Yacolt; father-in-law, Lester (Carol) Courtney of Amboy; brother-in-law, Gene (Bethany) Courtney of La Center; sisters-in-law, Susan Leppla and Jennifer Courtney of Portland; as well as many nieces, a nephew, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Liberty Bible Church: 12401 NE Salmon Creek Ave., Vancouver. The service will be followed by a celebration of Sheila's life at the Hazel Dell Grange #1124: 7509 NE Hazel Dell Ave., Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Courtney Scholarship Fund at any Columbia Credit Union for her daughters, Grace and Hayley.
