Sally Blye Eddy

Sally Blye Eddy passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday June 12, 2023. Born in the Bay Area of California on July 19, 1942, Sally spent her early childhood in Hayward, California before moving to Vancouver, Washington. Growing up in the Lincoln neighborhood, Sally maintained lifelong friendships with many of her classmates from school. Sally was an excellent student, graduating valedictorian of the 1960 class of Vancouver High School. She went on to get a degree in Chemistry from the University of Portland in 1968 while raising a family. Degree in hand, Sally's professional career began as a research chemist for the Central Research Division of Crown Zellerbach Corporation in Camas Washington. During the late 1970's Sally made the move within the mill to the quality assurance department before leaving in 1995 to begin a new professional chapter as a commercial real estate appraiser. Some of her achievements include inductee into the World-Wide lifetime achievement in 2015, inductee into Top Female Executives, 2012 and 2014, Professional of the Year World-Wide Branding 2012, 2013, and 2014, Industry Experts "Top 101 Industry Experts", Who's Who Publishers 2013. Inductee into the Top Elite American Executives, World-Wide Who's Who 2012, inductee into the Lifetime membership of Who's Who 2011, a volunteer project manager for Evergreen Habitat for Humanity 1997-1998. Former Chair Southwest Washington Private Industry Council. Member of the National Association of Realtors. Sally enjoyed spending time with her family and the many friends she made over her lifetime. She enjoyed growing chrysanthemums, a love she inherited from her mother Esther. Sally was a world traveler, loved the outdoors, a collector of antiques, hated spiders, enjoyed a good glass of wine, entertaining, and was an incredible cook. She is survived by her daughter Tami Kalugin, her son Steven Nelsen and daughter-in-law Angella, her grandchildren Patrick, Shawnell, and Delaney, her long-time partner Edward Eggleston, her sister Laurel Vosseler, and her fur baby Bella. There will be a viewing at Evergreen Memorial Gardens located at 1101 NE 112th Ave. Vancouver, WA on Friday June 23rd, 2023 from noon-5:00 PM and on Saturday June 24th , 2023 from 9:00 AM-noon, followed by a private burial in Kalama, Washington. The Family will be announcing a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
