Ruth Eleanor Tymer

Ruth Eleanor Tymer died peacefully Wednesday, January 13th, 2016, in Vancouver WA at the age of 98. Ruth was born at her Grandparent's home on May 21, 1917 in East Chicago, Indiana, to Eleanor and Alfred Tangerman. Ruth was preceded in death by the love of her life, Harold; her brothers Richard Tangerman and Earl Swanson; Daughter-in-Law Sandy Tymer; Grandson Tom Eurick; and her precious pet companion Sophie. Ruth was a wonderful Wife and Mother who raised four children. She instilled Christian values, led by example with her positive attitude and was always patient and kind. She was the loving Mother and Mother-in-Law of: Linda Eurick (Bob), Bill Tymer (Linda), Rick Tymer (Ellie), Tom Tymer (Jill). She cherished her Grandchildren and their spouses: John Eurick, Lynne Cuevas (Ron), Shawn Tymer (Meghan), Carrie Tymer (Allen), Tricia Paxton (Matt), and Joie Haczynski (Brad). Ruth is also survived by her Great Grandchildren: Ashley, Brad and Travis Eurick; Samantha Cuevas; Thomas, Jack and Ryan Paxton; Paris, Rylie, Georgia and Tyler Haczynski; and Noah Dickerson. Ruth was the rock of the home she and Harold built together, and instrumental in the creation of Tymer's Camera Shop & Reprographics in downtown Vancouver. This beautiful and petite lady always looked like she was ready to go out on the town. We think Harold and Ruth invented "date night" never missing their special Wednesday night outings. They were married for over 60 years, but their love will last throughout eternity. Ruth and Harold loved the ocean, and shared a cabin on the Oregon Coast where they spent numerous weekends enjoying the beautiful views of the ocean, and partaking in the fresh seafood. Ruth's other loves were playing piano by ear, gardening and going to Washington Huskies football games. Ruth was also an incredible cook. Her Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter dinners for the family are really going to be missed. Ruth had an incredibly strong faith in Christ. Her Lord and Savior was part of her daily life. Anyone who met Ruth could see her commitment to Christ in her actions. Ruth will be interred next to Harold at Park Hill Cemetery. The family will be having a private gathering to celebrate her life.
