Patrick MacGregor Murphy

Patrick M. Murphy, of Vancouver, Washington passed away on Sunday September 8, 2019 after reaching the age of 86 years old. After months of failing health, he died peacefully within his home in Vancouver Washington with his Beloved wife Colleen and daughter Patricia by his side. He is survived by his wife of 23 years Colleen (Fykerude) Murphy, his children Michael Murphy and spouse Peggy (Barclay) Murphy, Patricia (Murphy) Barney and spouse Keith Barney, his grandchildren Michelle (Murphy) Greer, Melinda (Murphy) Webster, Weston Barney, Kelleen (Barney) Gray, Lauren (Barney) Cook, his many great grandchildren and a host of neighborhood friends. Patrick was preceded in death by his father Frank Murphy, mother Lucille (Pott) Murphy, and his first wife of 39 years, Shirley (Wallace) Murphy. Patrick was born on February 8, 1933 in Tucson, AZ to Lucille (Pott) Murphy and Frank Murphy. As a boy he lived mostly with his grandmother, working odd jobs to support himself. As a very young man he learned to work hard and to take on whatever job was available to support himself. He joined the Marine Corps at the age of 16, served in the Korean war and the Vietnam War and retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant. He was a good father who always took care of his children and did the best he could to teach and guide them, a loving grandfather and "great-grand" father to many. In his later years, he enjoyed traveling the world with his wife Colleen.
