Michael Wayne Potts

Michael Wayne Potts, was born 29, October 1965 in Vancouver, Clark, Washington to Bette and Roger Potts. He had medical issues and passed 30, June 2023 at Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Hospital, Clackamas Oregon. During his life he had to overcome many obstacles in which he did not always easy. He graduated from Battle Ground High School, upon graduating he went to California to Disneyland, also Universal Studios, and from there South to Texas and met family of his stepdad. Seen new country and was able to do others things there. When that trip was done he also not long after went on carnival cruise lines with 23 other people, Was the first one in our family to go on a large ship, and of course for him first time flying, Enjoyed the trip. Then was able to move independently on his home and ARC was there is help him through out the rest of his life, He then got work, got involved in People First, took first-aid classes and earned his card. Took the bus many places through out the area, could tell you what was going on new business. One of his jobs was getting the chance to work at Pre Pack Pharmacy Technician his job was important to him. Mike packages medications for group homes and nursing homes for NCS Healthcare in Portland and lived in Vancouver and rode the bus crossing the Columbia River everyday. Had to change buses believe it was two. To get to work. He enjoyed his job as he had his own, quiet, work- station that he had decorates with pictures of animals on the wall, that his co-workers would bring him. He had reading challenges and made great strides in memorizing/matching lengthy series of numbers and letters that are codes for different sizes of pill packages when he wasn't working. Mike participates in athletic programs through the YMCA in Vancouver, where he was a member. And he was also in a fashion show for persons with disabilities at the Bagley Center, truly enjoyed with others. He work at other places through out Vancouver and one of his last jobs he work at was Cinnabon at the mall, Was a hard worker and dedication, and a great employer, He was also involved in Special Olympics, did track, baseball, basketball and above all bowling. Went to many tournaments throughout the state. His step-dad Jack bowl with Mike and his team and they went to state came home with a gold a joy for all of them. Mike enjoy doing many things with family and friends stayed with his sports until his health starting giving him problems, A joy he brought to much family and friends. Mike is preceded in death, by his father Roger Potts, also his step-dad Arlin (Jack) Forgy, his Step- brother Donn Forgy California, Step-sister Lora Braley. Washington, nephew Roger Wray Forgy, nieces Chrissy Hughes, and Stephaine Amanda Potts Survived his mother Bette Forgy, Brother Lewis(Lynelle) Potts of Cascade Montana, Step-sister Rhonda(Dan)Perkins, Vancouver, Washington, Step-sister Jackie (Bill) Tippen Washougal, Washington, Step-brother James Forgy Washougal, Washington and Step-sister Wanda LeeAnn Forgy, Longview, Wahington. Mike survived his niece Melissa (Derek) Zaske and family and many other nieces and their family as well as nephews and their family. The services are at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Vancouver Washington, July 19,2023 at 3 p.m.
