Memphis Jacob Revenge Evans

Memphis J. R. Evans, age 15, tragically passed away while swimming on a family outing to Blue Lake Regional Park in Fairview, OR on July 21, 2026. Memphis was born on December 13, 2010 to his parents Brian Evans & Nicole Granlund in Everett, WA. Memphis was always a very happy and vocal child, he showed a level of inquisitiveness and fascination for how things worked. He grew up playing video games, building legos, and was always observant and analytical about daily tasks, video games, and experiences using his mind to grow and became a quick learner at an early age. Memphis very much enjoyed participating in activities with Mom and Dad, like attending outings to the Airplane Museum in Hood River or going to the Haunted corn maze while fearlessly pointing out the characters. As Memphis developed into adolescence he showed great enthusiasm about life, food, animals, and his younger siblings. Memphis always took great pride in being the best big brother. Memphis had a goofy brilliance about his character and he was always quick with a joke or anti-joke that would leave you laughing and guessing at the same time. He loved to spend time playing Magic the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons with his parents and friends, and he regularly showed a level of intelligence that gave him endless possibilities. He was empathetic to everyone, and was always there with a big hug and a silly smile to brighten your day. Memphis was an amazing creative writer and loved to write up his own horror stories, and had a gift for turning something ordinary into extraordinary. Memphis had an excited energy about everything in life and he loved his friends and family with a deep passion that was hard to go unnoticed. Memphis had the biggest heart and was a beacon of light wherever he went, always offering a kind gesture or helping hand to friends and family. He was very excited to start his Sophomore year at Mt. View High school in Vancouver, WA where he would have been playing varsity football as number 55. Football was one of his many favorite past times and something he hoped would have been his future in the NFL. Memphis loved playing football, was an avid and enthusiastic video gamer, and loved to explore the world of culinary delights with his second mom Hailee; from whom he learned how to make many of his favorite homemade dishes one of which was Mac n’ Cheese. Memphis had aspirations to pursue a career in Law after high school and was looking forward to achieving early college credits for law and criminal justice before potentially attending college at Boise State University where he hoped to play football and advance his athletic abilities to new heights. Memphis’s memory will forever be cherished by his parents Brian & Hailee Evans and Nicole Granlund & Jeff Goin, his two younger siblings Ewan & Lemon, as well as his many Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and many many cousins and friends who are at a complete loss for his life being cut short. His enthusiasm for a football tackle during a game, a home cooked meal spent excitedly lurking over mom, play-fighting Dragon Ball-Z with his little brother, and infectiously cackling over video games with Dad will be sorely missed. A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Memphis on Saturday August 1st, 2026 at 6:30pm on the 50 yard line of the Mt. View High School football field in Vancouver, WA. This will be a public event for family, friends, and the community; however the family does request that any media outlets please respect our request for privacy. The Mountain View Football Team plans to host a Candlelight Vigil in Memphis’s Honor, further details will be available soon.
