Margaret "Diane" Edwards

Margaret "Diane" Edwards, age 89, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 17, 2025. She now rejoices in the presence of her Heavenly Father and Savior. Diane was born in Blairsville, Pennsylvania on February 16, 1935, to David Clair Conrath and Clara Elizabeth (George) Conrath. She was the oldest of their two daughters. She married Alvin Eugene Edwards on June 6, 1953. After 54 years of marriage, her husband preceded her in death on July 19, 2007. As a wife of a United States Air Force serviceman, Diane lived most of her life traveling from country to country. They started their lives together in Pennsylvania then moved to England, Morocco, Africa, Japan, and Guam. They also lived in several states including Moses Lake, Washington, Orlando Florida, Blytheville, Arkansas, Biloxi, Mississippi, Millbrook, Alabama, Anchorage, Alaska, Dayton, Ohio, Ogden, Utah, Winlock, Washington, Vancouver, Washington, LaCenter, Washinton, and Battleground, Washington. Diane dearly and wholeheartedly loved her family. She is survived by four children: David Edwards and wife Connie, Robert Edwards, Douglas Edwards and wife, Deborah Lee, Patricia (Edwards) McMichael and husband, Kevin. She had 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Throughout her lifetime, she made good friends every place she lived. She enjoyed socializing with friends and family, and loved playing a variety of games. Diane was an accomplished pianist and taught piano lessons to many students. She thoroughly loved to play the piano at home with her husband, standing behind her singing one duet after another. She taught Sunday school for many years, hosted several adult Bible Studies in her home, and volunteered for MMAP (Mobile Missionary Assistant Program) and for the Hospice Organization while living in Alaska and Washington. Diane enjoyed teaching the English language and co-teaching American Citizenship classes to prepare individuals to obtain their USA citizenship. Diane was also an avid reader, a quilter, a connoisseur of crossword puzzles, and a wonderful Christian woman who served God throughout her lifetime. Her hope and love for the Lord never faltered. To the very end, Diane lived optimistically, and joyfully, caring more for those around her than herself. She will always be cherished, loved, and missed.
