Kaye R. Pace

Kaye Robison Pace, 84, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on Dec. 30, 2018, with loving family and caregivers by her side. She was born on March 25, 1934, in Ogden, UT to Francis Hopkin and Elmo Robison (divorced). Kaye spent her childhood years in Croydon, UT and moved to Salt Lake City when she was 12 years old. She attended University of Utah and worked for Associated General Contractors, American Paper and Armco Drainage Supply until she got married at age 25 to Robert "Bob" Leslie Pace on Sept. 5, 1959 in Croydon. In 1968, Bob and Kaye were sealed together with their children in the Salt Lake City Latter Day Saints Temple for all time and all eternity. In 1970, they moved to Vancouver, WA where they spent the remainder of their lives, raising their children and cultivating lifelong friendships. Suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 50 years, she persevered as the beloved matriarch of the Pace Family. Through her afflictions Kaye remained positive, cheerful and never complained as she raised five children and was a source of strength to her husband and all that knew her. A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kaye served many callings in the church including the Young Women's President, three times a Counselor in Relief Society Presidency, twice as a Counselor in Primary Presidency and she taught mother education and various other classes. Kaye was preceded in death by her best friend and devoted husband, Bob, who passed away Aug. 4, 2018; her mother, Francis (Hopkin) Griffin and step-father, Robert Griffin. She is survived by her loving children: Leslie Potts (Bruce), Mary Pace (Steve), Robert Pace (Noly), Mark Pace (Grace) and Scott Pace (Paige); and her cherished grandchildren: Abbie, Morganne, Griffin, Camille, Chloe, Weston, Davin, Ava, Pierce, Sloane, Mira, Felix, Kayla and Kelsey. To say a gap is left in our family is an understatement, but we are comforted as we know Kaye is with our Heavenly Father, her husband Bob, and many loved ones who have passed before. We are also comforted that she no longer endures the pain she lived with for most of her life. The family thanks Community Home Hospice, the Elaine & Don Heimbigner Hospice Care Center and most of all the devoted Caregivers of Northwest Healthcare for their respectful and loving service to our Mom. God Bless Them. A celebration of Kaye's life will be held Sat., Jan. 5, at the LDS Bliss Road Chapel in Felida at 14400 Northwest 26th Ave., Vancouver, WA 98685. Funeral services begin at 10:00 a.m. and a graveside ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Ave., Vancouver, WA 98684 in the Garden of Arlington West.
