June E. Seekins

JUNE E. SEEKINS , 92, of Vancouver, WA. passed December 28, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Washougal, WA in 1924 to John and Catherine Fox. She was one of five siblings. June attended Washougal High School. After high school June worked at the Pendleton Woolen Mill in Washougal and later in life she worked for Del Monte. On August 8, 1942, June married the love of her life, Joe Seekins. After World War II Joe and June started their family. They had three children, son, John Seekins (Lyn), daughter Judi Andrew (Bob), daughter Janet Seekins, (Roy). The family grew to include grandchildren Robin McBee (Corey), Jason Seekins, Ragan Myers (Michael) and Joe Beck; great grandchildren Karlee, Kelcie, and Quinn and great-great grandson Finn. She had a passion for cooking, traveling the Washington and Oregon coast, and following the Portland Trailblazers and Seattle Mariners. June was able to travel with her family, thanks to special arrangements by major league baseball player Randy Myers, to Wrigley Field, Camden Yard, Fenway Park, and Qualcomm Stadium. Thanks to Randy she was able to sit in the family section and was treated like royalty, affording her the opportunity to meet many major league players and personalities. June was proceeded in death by her parents John and Catherine Fox; four brothers; loving husband Joe; and grandson Lou Andrew. A special thank you to Ruby Chapman her classmate and dear friend of 80 years; Kathy Thompson who made her hair beautiful every week for decades and all her care- givers and staff at Bridgewood, who loved her dearly. The family can't thank you enough for showing our mother love and compassion. Also, we want to thank Community Home Health and Hospice of Salmon Creek, you are the best at what you do. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday January 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Avenue, Vancouver, WA 98684. There will be a private viewing on Tuesday January 3, 2017 from noon to 8:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in our mother's name to The Today Foundation PO Box 790, Brush Prairie, WA 98606.
