Joseph Holper Jr.

Our sweet Joseph "Joey" Jake Holper, Jr passed on September 24, 2021 at the young age of 44. Joseph was born at 11:43pm on Friday, December 24th, 1976 at Memorial Hospital in Vancouver, WA. The nurses brought Joseph to his mom and dad in a Christmas stocking, and what a gift he was! Joseph grew up in Salmon Creek, WA and attended Salmon Creek Elementary, Gaiser Middle School and Columbia River High School. He started working at the family business Jake's Meats in high school and remained committed to the family business all his life. Part of Joseph's work duties included delivering to various businesses. He took pride in his work and would go above and beyond taking care of his customers and they all loved him. Joseph was extremely close to his immediate family, his mom, dad, and sister. The four of them always had an incredibly close, unbreakable bond with so much love. When Joseph's nephews came along that was no exception. He loved Kory and Kellen with all his heart. They felt that love and loved him back just as much. The simplest things in life brought great joy to Joseph. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and bringing a smile to anyone's face. If you asked Joseph to do something for you or to help you out with something you would always receive a quick yes before you could even finish asking. Even if that something was for someone he did not know he was happy to help. Joseph was the guy that didn't just know you, but he also knew your kids, your parents, your grandparents and your friends and they all loved him too. Joseph loved to read and learn new things. He was well versed on many subjects and was always up for a good debate or deep conversation on just about any topic. Joseph had the most amazingly wonderful sense of humor. He loved to tell corny dad jokes and he was quick witted to respond with something funny. He would try to keep a straight face but many times he would have laugh too and that was the best! His pleasant personality was contagious to everyone he met. Joseph enjoyed watching movies and TV shows, riding motorcycles, traveling, cooking and eating a good meal, watching Seahawks games, anything related to cars or elephants and of course his 1977 Ford Bronco that was his love and project. The family plans to finish that project in his honor. Joseph lived a life of gratitude and service. He was a faithful Christian and that showed in his many works. He loved reading Jehovah God's Word and he was a man of prayer. Joseph volunteered for years with foster children and would take foster kids on trips and to events. He did volunteer work for several churches that he attended in the Vancouver/Portland area. He would not hesitate to pray with you or for you whenever you needed it. Joseph was such a beautiful and pure soul. He was one of kind. We love him, cherish him, and miss him dearly. Joseph is survived by his mom, Yolanda Sandoval Holper; his dad, Joseph Jake Holper, Sr; his sister, Jolanda Terrell and brother-in-law Charles Terrell; his nephews, Kory Terrell and Kellen Terrell; and his many cousins, aunts, uncles, other family members and a myriad of friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 12:30PM - 1:30PM followed by a reception in the Hospitality Room, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel 1101 NE 112th Avenue Vancouver, Washington 98684
