Jinai's greatest joy was her daughterRoxxann. She documented all their fun times with regular Facebook posts."Jinai Dow Record, 51, passed away March 30, 2024, in Portland, OR. She was born September 1,1972 in Longview, WA to Theodore Day McDonald Jr., and Coralee Jean (Beck) McDonald.She attended Castle Rock High school and graduated from RA Long High School in 1990. Jinaimoved to Portland, OR, where she attended Portland Community College. While there, she metJeff Record and they were married at the family property on the Toutle River in Castle Rock, WAand lived in Portland, OR. They shared a daughter, Roxxann Violet Record. Jinai and Jeffdivorced but shared custody of Roxxann until she turned 18.Jinai worked in the travel industry for 22 years. She started in reception and worked her way upto be an International Ticketing Specialist - International Ticketing Agent. She worked atAzumano Travel, Portland, OR from April 1996 to September 2013. She continued this work atPeak Travel Group/Direct Travel, San Jose, CA from September 2013 to February 2018 doingquality control for corporate travel.Jinai is survived by her daughter, Roxxann Violet Record of Portland, OR. Four siblings,Rebecca Robbins Albright, (Portland, OR), Kelley McDonald Smith (Tacoma, WA), Todd GeddesMcDonald, (Portland, OR) and Marra Layli Johnson (Vancouver, WA). Jinai is also survived by 8nieces and nephews , Mary Z McIlvain (Tigard, OR), Brittany Smith (Seattle, WA), Ryan Albright(Beaverton, OR), Ben Smith (Seattle, WA), Adam McDonald (Portland, OR), Mackensie Johnson(Boise, ID), Brandon McDonald (Portland, OR) and Dillon Johnson (Lacey, WA). Jinai waspreceded in death by both parents in 2016 and her niece Chloe Johnson (Olympia WA) in January2023.A private family burial has taken place. Please join us for a Celebration of Life memorial in honorof Jinai at 1:00 p.m., April 27 at the Portland Bahá'í Center, 8720 N Ivanhoe St, Portland, OR97203. Refreshments will be provided.
