JEFFREY DREXEL SCOTTDied January 25, 2024 Jeffrey Drexel Scott - Passed away quietly on Jan. 25, 2024, in Vancouver, WA. He was a resident of Vancouver for his entire life. His parents were T. Drexel Scott and Mary E. Scott. He is survived by a brother, Joel F. Scott (Babs), of Vancouver; and sister, Mary Kay Huber (Noel) of Shoreline, WA. He had three nieces, Leslie Huber and Juliana Patrick, Poppy J. Studer; and two nephews, Jason T. Scott and Joel F. Scott, Jr. Jeff was born with an intellectual disability, and he attended Hough Elementary School Special Education. He was raised in a very loving family and he had wonderful friends and neighbors who mentored him in so many ways. What a blessing that was for Jeff and the family. Actually, he had quite a normal childhood growing up with his handicap. He was physically a normal active little boy! He first worked at Shocraft, a sheltered workshop for disabled citizens. All of his growth and understanding was centered around verbal communications with family, friends and activities. That was special! Jeff had so much fun when he started a "car washing business" in the neighborhood. He would show up and say "I'll wash and clean your car for you." One of the neighbors made him a magnetic sign for advertising his service. Later, in his life, Jeff worked for Bill Marshall Ford / Vancouver Ford for over 31 years! What a blessing that was for him. His greatest joy was working with all the employees of the company. They loved his happy spirit and joking around. He was a member of the Mustang Club. He loved driving in the Fort Vancouver holiday parades, and attending car shows. Jeff participated for several years in the Special Olympics and had many ribbons and medals. He traveled with Sundial Vacations, a special needs organization for physically and mentally challenged citizens. Two memorable trips were Hawaii and Graceland, and several other wonderful destinations. Jeff loved to watch WWE Smackdown, plus game and police/fire shows on TV. He attended First Presbyterian Church and recently received a 50-year membership recognition. He made friendships in Vancouver, and wherever he would go. He loved music and had a huge collection of media. He had a great sense of humor, a big smile, and was able to adapt to many health challenges. He had a huge collection of small scale replica cars ... especially, Mustangs! He was proud driving his own blue Mustang. Jeff knew he had faith that he would go to Heaven. We give thanks to the First Presbyterian Church family for their special care for Jeff and Laurie Featherly, too! The last 2-1/2 years of Jeff's life was in residence at Stephens Place in Vancouver. It is a wonderful facility providing a loving supportive adult care home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our family has been blessed so much by their caregiving.
