Hilda L. Timm November 20, 1913 to December 11, 2010 Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 3:5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 3:6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 3:7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Hilda was born in Ute, Iowa to Fritz and Anna Theis. She had 7 brothers and sisters. She lived her youth in Iowa, and attended school with Walter C. Timm. She later married Walter when she was 28. Hilda and Walt lived in several states over the years, and had the opportunity to live both on farms and near town. Hilda had 3 children while she lived in Iowa: Elaine, Sandra Joyce, and Robert (Bob) Timm. In 1963, the family moved to Oregon. Hilda remained a homemaker while her children and grandchildren were all growing up. She and her husband moved to Vancouver, Washington where Walt passed away in 1980. Hilda remained in the home, enjoying the comfort and settled feeling of staying in one place. She loved her home and never, ever, wanted to leave. Her Grandchildren included Kathy, Jerry, Mike and Stacy and her Granddaughter in law Anna. Hilda loved them all deeply, as they did her. She had Great Grandchildren Angela, Meagan, Kevin, Kayla, and Bobbie. Her Great -great Grandchildren include Landon, Nolan and Parker. She is survived by her sister, Esther Berg of Appleton Wisconsin. Hilda was a quiet, gentle and loving person. She didn't say "I love you" but you always knew it to be true. She showed her love for you in the things she made for you: cooking a favorite meal, a handmade craft she gave to you, or gently being with you, always in a supportive way. She would listen without being judgmental, and would never gossip or find joy in another person's troubles. She was an animal lover, and always had bird feeders, nuts for the squirrels and a dog in the house to keep her company. She loved her Chihuahua Gigi, and her bird named "Birdie". Her favorite color was blue, and her lucky number was 4. She loved Chinese food, and always, without fail, would order "Cashew Chicken". Her favorite activities were shopping at the discount stores to find a treasure or two, having family stop by to visit and of course, going out to eat. When she was younger she liked to garden, and make many kinds of crafts. She loved to knit, crochet and sew as well as paint ceramics with her daughter Joyce. Hilda was truly loved, and will be missed. She made a difference in our lives, and for that we will forever be grateful.
