Glen E. Gentry

Glen Ellis Gentry 1934-2021 Glen Ellis Gentry passed away on October 5, 2021, at the Brookdale Memory Care in Vancouver, Washington. Where he had resided for the last few years. Glen was born in Missouri on August 4, 1934. The second child of George and Opal Gentry. They lived in Missouri until 1946. Glen was 12 when he and the family moved to Idaho in the summer. His father George was in an accident and was killed in December 1946. Glen went to school in Wilder until he joined the Air Force, he was under age, so his mom, Opal signed for him to be able to join. He met his wife Donna Perry while stationed in Everett Washington. Donna already had 4 children so they became a family. Of course, they travelled some being in the military and after 20 years he retired from the Air Force. He then moved to Vancouver Washington. Glen took a job with the school district and later retired from there. He then took a job delivering bussed from back east to Washington. After several years of that he finally bought a motor home and he and Donna did some traveling along with a cruise or two. Glen also did some fishing with his sons and buddies, and some hunting with his sons. Glen and the boys also did some bowling, and were very good at it. With all this he still found time to visit his family in Idaho. When in the service he always took his leave to help his parents Opal and Bud Walling with the farm, and of course his kids loved coming to Grandma and Grandpa's farm. A lot of pot luck dinners and everyone getting together, when he came home. Glen is survived by his sons Bob Perry, Richard Perry both in Vancouver, and Randy Perry in Woodland Washington, 4 grandsons Robert , Mario Glen and Keven. Granddaughters Heather and Myra. Sister Mary Margaret Hageman of New Plymouth Idaho. numerous nieces and nephews and some great nieces and nephews and a few great great nieces and nephews. Glen was preceded in death by wife Donna, daughter Linda, his parents Bud and Opal Walling, 2 sisters Lawana and Romona, 2 brothers George and Kenneth, a niece and 2 nephews. A memorial is being planned for later in Idaho.
