Gertrude Mae Loveall

Trudy Loveall was a woman of great talent and conviction. Born Gertrude Mae Peterson to Samuel and Jessie Peterson of Norway, she was the youngest of five siblings and next to the last of her generation. Trudy attended high school in the Seattle suburb of Ballard and finding her voice, "Pete", as she was known in school, landed leading vocal roles through class drama and vocal productions of classic "Operetta's". She could hit a G above high C in her prime and what a beauty! She also was one of the original print and runway models for The Bon Marche' in Seattle in the '40s and worked in sales and modeling at Arctic Fur Co. as well. Trudy met and married Austin Loveall in 1942 ~ her Prince. Their shared interests in travel, garden, dancing, golf, art, hiking, family and friends filled their years with much happiness and fulfillment. She and Austin actually danced their way across the South Pacific as the entertainment/dance team aboard a six week cruise through the islands in the late '60s. Trudy was an award winning artist. Pastel to acrylic to watercolor, her works ranged from portraitures to abstract to the depths of new treatments and applications she gleaned from all the continuous education she sought. She was commissioned to join in the Nihonga Exhibit, hosted by the Marshall House for our Japanese sister city Sapporo, in 1986. She painted the original art of the Marshall House, which was later printed and sold in the gift shop. Her art works will joyfully surround us, her family and friends in the years ahead. Trudy played the piano beautifully, by ear and read music. She continued her lessons until late in life and found great joy in her innate and learned abilities. Music was an important aspect in her home and contributed to years of happy memories. She was a good friend and forged many long-term relationships through hiking, golf, art and music. She was truly blessed, especially with the women in her life and the common interests they enjoyed. Survivors include her son, Kenneth and Kathie Loveall; three grandchildren: Jennifer, Edward, Diana; and three great-grands; her daughter, Lynn and Joe Woods; one grandson, Austin; and one great-grand . Trudy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Austin in 1989, and perhaps now, is sharing in his Lightness of Being ~ dancing in the moonlight.
