Frances A. Barker

In Loving Memory of Frances "Fran" BarkerFebruary 18,1937 ~ May 30, 2025 Fran was born in Washington, DC on February 18, 1937, to Hunter and Louise Jordan. She was the second of their four children: Mary, Sonny and Frank. Fran was preceded in death by her husband Bill. They shared a family together, Fran was a mother to six children: Chuck, Teresa, Fred (deceased) Cindy, Denice and Janice. She had a relationship with Bill's seven children and they shared many grandchildren and great grandchildren. The families blended beautifully over the years and continue to share many happy memories. Her family legacy will be carried on through the lives of her children and loved ones. Being with her sister Mary and camping was one of her fondest memories. They stayed up late in the lawn chairs, sat by the fire and/or walked down to the river and if you listened you could hear them howling at the moon. Fran was a "country girl at heart" she loved her animals of all kinds. Camping over the years with so many of her friends were cherished times. While living in the Olympic Peninsula, swimming at the local resort became a favorite pastime. Her friends always looked forward to her baked goods and chatting after swimming ended. Fran's friendships encompassed all aspects and chapters of her life, and each was special to her. From phone calls to chats to family outings, to sharing meals and entertaining to adventures near and far, our Mom Fran was up for anything. She knew how to prepare and put together a meal in no time. Fran touched the lives of every person she met. She loved fiercely and tenderly. She didn't waste time worrying, for it was always said, "This too shall pass". Family gatherings took on a special meaning as she aged, as she found joy in listening to the commotion of family and friends. Our Mom enjoyed nothing more than a good hotdog, game of dice or cards. "It took an instant to lose you, and it will take our entire lifetime to grieve the loss of you. GRIEF never ends because LOVE never ends. We will love you, and ache for you until our very last breath" And think of her as living in the hearts that she has touched, For nothing loved is ever lost. And she was loved so very much.
