Evelyn Bernice Wright

EVELYN BERNICE WRIGHT Sept 26, 1929 - Sept 3, 2009 Evelyn Bernice Wright of Washougal, WA, passed away on Sept. 3, 2009, just days before her 80th birthday. She was born in Portland, OR to Eben and Josephine Darnell. She loved fishing, traveling, camping, reading and especially family get togethers. Evelyn is survived by her two daughters, Kim Plumb of Vancouver, WA and Lynn Roath of Washougal, WA; Eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Harry D. Wright and their son Bruce. A memorial service will be held Wed., Sept. 9, 2009 at 2:00PM at Gateway Community Church, in Washougal, WA. The family requests memorial donations to either Treasure House or Gateway Community Church in memory of her. My mom was the best mom anyone could have ever had. She should have had no regrets when she went home to be with God. I remember only happy times when I was growing up; on vacations and at the cabin in Pacific city. She would get mad at us but not for long. And I think all her worrying made her healthy as long as she was. She told me that when she was dying the last few days i had with her in the hospital. She said her favorite memory was sitting in the boat fishing with my dad. I got to take my mom to Disneyworld in May of 2009 and we both felt it would be the last big trip we went on together. We had a fabulous time and I am so glad we got the time together. She raised Jamey for me for awhile while i was having a hard time in my life and I will be forever grateful to her for that. I will miss my calls to her and talking with her. She took care of all of us for so long and now it is time to carry out her dream; that we stay strong and remain a family. Our whole family got to do some special time with her right before she went home to heaven and I am sure that God had it planned that way. Mom I love you so much and I wish that you could have lived til you were 96. That was the plan. But you were healthy and then you went home to be with Bruce and my dad. That was the way it should have been. You and Dad had an awesome marraige and I hope someday that I can find that true love and peace that you two had together. You will be missed and our lives will never be the same without you. I love you, Your daughter KIm.
