Donna Ann Watson

DONNA ANN WATSON September 9, 1928 ~ April 21, 2013 "Her positive personality will be with us forever." Our mother passed away from this earth on Sun., April 21st, 2013 peacefully in her sleep. She was born on Sept. 9, 1928 to John and Iva Keneipp in Augusta, KS. Donna moved to Longview, WA in 1948 to be with her sister, Marjorie Page. After settling in Vancouver, WA in 1950, she met and married our father, Jack Watson (who died in 1987) at the Saint James Catholic Church in downtown Vancouver. Donna was employed at Pacific Bell Telephone Company as a 'Hello number girl', J.C. Penney, Melvin's Men's Shop and the Eagles Lodge #2158, where she was a member. Donna loved her time down at the Eagle's Lodge where she was the adopted mom of many who loved and adored her. She'd say "You clean up that language fellas or put your money in the cuss jar!". She enjoyed shooting pool, bartending, karaoke (at times) and all kinds of live music and dancing. She was at the recent dance at the lodge and said "I danced my patootie off last night. I had a great time!" Donna had many other interests: her beloved doxies, gardening, sewing, camping and oh yes, her daily crossword puzzles. We will especially miss her vast array of Christmas cookies where she made up large batches and shared with everyone. She also was a devoted Portland Trail Blazer and Seattle Mariner fan, win or lose! Donna was a great listener and advisor, she'd say things like "Don't borrow trouble." or "Oh well." and after you where done giving her an ear full, she'd say "Other than that, how've you been?". "Mom, our hearts may be broken, but our beautiful memories of you will be cherished forever. We will miss you. Love, from your family and friends who adored you." Donna is survived by her daughters, Jacque Lytle of Wooster, OH and Kerry (Bobby, Sr.) Erving of Vancouver; her son, Ted Watson (Cheryl) of Vancouver; grandson's, Bobby, Jr. and Zackary Erving of Vancouver, Jerry Watson (Sharon) of Wooster, OH and Tyler and Tanner Watson of Vancouver; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Erving of Arizona, Dominic Watson of Ohio; step-great-granddaughters, Lorissa and Megan Miller Ohio; and great-great-granddaughter, Aurora of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; sisters, Floris Keneipp, Marjorie Page; and grandson, Michael Watson. A private service will be held, however, for all who knew Donna, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Eagle's Lodge #2158, 107 E. 7th St., Vancouver, 98660 on Sun., May 5, 2013 at 2:30 p.m.
