Though our hearts grieve his passing, we rejoice in knowing that Del is now in the presence of his Savior, whom he loved and served faithfully throughout the majority of his ninety years. Del placed his trust in Christ for his salvation in May 1968 at a Billy Graham Crusade and lived his life thereafter as a faithful servant of the Lord, walking humbly with God and seeking daily to honor Him in all he did. Del and Dixie may not have been world missionaries, but they brought the world freely into their home to share the love of Jesus to those in need. A gifted architect for more than fifty years, Del saw his work as a reflection of God’s creativity — a way to design with purpose, integrity, and care for others. His love for Jesus Christ shaped every part of his life. He was a man of prayer, quiet strength, and steadfast faith. He embodied Philippians 2:3–4 — “In humility value others above yourselves.” His life’s work, both professional and spiritual, bore witness to his devotion to Christ and his desire to serve others selflessly. Family and Legacy Del was devoted to his beloved wife, Jimalee “Dixie” McNutt Mace, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and faith. Together they built a family centered on God’s promises. He was a devoted father to Michael Mace, Jeffrey Mace, and Lisa York; a loving father-in-law to Leslie Mace and Dale York; a proud grandfather to Seth Mace, Josiah Mace, Daniel Mace, Emily Rhine, Erik Rhine, Andrew Mace, Sarah Mace, Erin Lukow, Joshua York, Carina York and Sarah York; and a joyful great-grandfather to Riley Rhine, Mason Rhine, Lillian Mace, Boston Mace, Daphne Mace, Madilynn Mace, Amelia Mace, Asher Rhine, Emmett Mace, Davis Mace, and Rosalind Mace. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Mace, his sister, Sue Adams and his daughter-in-law, Donna Mace who now welcome him into glory. Del’s life bore the fruit of the Spirit — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. He worked diligently, gave generously, and trusted fully in God’s grace. His legacy of faith continues to shine through the generations who follow him. A Celebration of Hope A memorial service celebrating Del’s life and faith will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Heritage Church NW at 8803 NE 76th St, Vancouver, WA 98662. “In My Father’s house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you.” — John 14:2–3 Though Del has finished his earthly race, his faith continues to speak through the lives he touched. His life reminds us of God’s promise in Matthew 25:23: “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” The Mace and York Families wish to thank everyone for your love, prayers, and support.
