The Life of Dave BurgeDave Burge peacefully stepped into heaven from natural causes at his home in Vancouver, WA on Saturday, May 15, 2021. He was 52 years old. Dave was born to Bea and Robert on the Island of Guam on December 19, 1968. His father was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Agana. Growing up in a military family, he lived in various places such as San Diego, Memphis, and eventually settling in Mannford, Oklahoma. Dave attended Mannford High School and graduated with the Class of '87. There he played football for the Mannford Pirates (#77) which propelled his love for coaching that extended throughout his life. He attended Lakeside Baptist church and spent summer camps at Falls Creek where he made many friendships that he maintained throughout his entire life. Dave actively stayed in contact with most if not all his high school classmates.He attended Oklahoma Baptist University where he earned his Bachelor's of Fine Arts with an emphasis in theater. He served God his entire life and showed that same pure love for others. After college, Dave moved to Kansas City where he worked at Ozanam Home for Boys on the intensive care treatment unit with kids who were severely abused. While he was at Ozanam, he attended a training where he met one of the most influential people of his life who opened the door into advertising for Career Colleges. He loved the idea of advertising for colleges where he got to continue his legacy of helping young people improve their lives, this time through career education. He got to use his creativity through advertising, while continuing to help people grow through education-the best of both worlds.This experience was the start of Dave's passion for the mission of Career Colleges. During his career in advertising, he always preferred working in education because of the impact it had on people's lives. Dave had a heart for others fueled by his love for Jesus.In 1998, Dave met the love of his life, Rebekah, who he married in 2000. They moved to Washington in 2001 where they raised their two sons, Josh and Alex. Dave and Bekah co-founded Lead Dog Advertising in 2002. Dave and Bekah were inseparable. They completed each other and the two of them together were unstoppable. Dave loved his wife with everything he had, there is nothing he wouldn't do for her. Their marriage was what fairytales are made of.Dave was an incredible father who was extremely involved in his boys' lives. He coached Pop Warner football, high school football, and Little League. He led his teams to championships and instilled a drive of discipline and loyalty into his players. He was a youth pastor for many years, loved working with kids, and was especially drawn to the kids he saw hurting the most. He was also an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan. One of his greatest joys was becoming a Papa to Charlotte Burge in October 2020.His legacy lives on through his family: wife Rebekah; sons Josh and Alex; daughter-in-law Kaitlyn; granddaughter Charlotte; mother Bea; and brother Michael. He is reunited in Heaven with his grandchild "Little Bean", father Robert and sister Debbie along with his pups Charlie, Abbie, Pepper, and Murry. See More at www.daveburge.com
