Christopher Trent Kunz

On Monday, February 13, Trent Kunz left this world surrounded by family and friends. Trent was born in Pocatello, Idaho on March 2, 1972, to Chris and Brenda Kunz. He spent his early years there running around with cousins and participating in essentially every sport imaginable. The Kunz family moved to Washington when Trent was in middle school where he was able to further cultivate his love of sports. Trent was always a gifted athlete with a brilliant mind and that allowed him to be successful in high school where he was a varsity athlete and honors student. During his junior year of high school, Trent suffered a neck injury that left him paralyzed from the neck down. This injury would change the course of his life, but his indomitable spirit refused to go down. Trent was able to overcome this injury because he never allowed his status as a quadriplegic to define him as a person. Trent graduated from Prairie High School and received an undergraduate in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University. During his time at BYU, Trent was introduced to his wife, Kristi Lee. After graduation from BYU, Trent and Kristi moved to Los Angeles so Trent could attend law school at the University of California - Los Angeles where he and Kristi welcomed their oldest son, Nathan into the family. Trent concluded his formal education at the University of Washington where he received an LL.M in Taxation. Trent moved his family back to the Clark County area where he began working as an attorney. Trent and his associate Jon Gill started their own firm, Salmon Creek Law Offices, in 2005. Trent established himself as a pillar in the community as he always treated his clients with respect, kindness, and compassion while providing them with high-level service and unquestioned integrity. Trent and Kristi's youngest son, Jonathan, was born in 2008. Trent lived his life in such a way that people gravitated towards him. He was always willing to help people in need and spent countless hours training youth in the community in their athletic endeavors. When he wasn't at work, you could always find Trent with his boys shooting hoops, lifting weights, or attending sports events. Supporting Nathan and Jonathan in all they did was Trent's priority. He did everything he could to be at every event possible, even going so far as trying to cut hospital visits short so he wouldn't miss a game. Trent made the world a better place by lifting and serving others. Trent will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the entire community. He is survived by his Wife, Kristi Lee Kunz; and sons, Nathan and Jonathan; and his little sister, Sherida Lloyd (Ross). He is preceded in death by his parents Chris J. and Brenda Marshall Kunz.
