Christine M. Peterson

Christine Marie Peterson passed away at her residence in Hillsboro, Oregon on Sept 10, 2010; she was 99. Christine was born July 5, 1911 in Yankton, South Dakota. She lived there with her parents Jim & Dagmar Christenson and her five brothers and one sister. Christine obtained her 8th grade diploma June 11th, 1927. She met William Lawrence Lasher and they married in 1928. They moved to Raymond, Washington and started a family. Christine had six children; Dale, Alice, Darryl, John, Elaine and Marjorie. Dale and Alice both passed away as infants and Darryl passed away at age 6 in 1938. Christine and Lawrence divorced and she later remarried Sigfred Peterson Nov 3, 1957. She was widowed in 1976. Christine enjoyed traveling; spending time with her family, going to the beach working crossword puzzles and playing skip bo. Christine is survived by her children John Lasher and wife Charlene Lasher of Ridgefield, WA; Elaine Nichols of Portland, Or; and Marjorie Ball of Vancouver, WA. Nine grandchildren; Richard Lasher, Donald Lasher, Lisa Matney, Lori Bertlow, Linda Lasher, Tina Langborg, Charles Ball, Michael Nichols and Bridget Ball-Cabral. Fifteen great grandchildren Tiffany Giesbers, Travis Matney, Jennifer Short, Richard Lasher, Katie Bertlow, Casey Goldin, Lindsey Lasher, Jeffery Lasher, Timothy Goldin, Eddie Rothermel, Amy Bertlow, Jordan Langborg, Meaghan Nichols, Trevor Matney and Ethan Nichols and thirteen great-great grandchildren; Amanda Giesbers, Alyssa Giesbers, Ashley Giesbers, Brandon Giesbers, Bailey Matney, Zoey Short, Jeremiah Bertlow, Anthony Short, MaryChristina Short, Collin Goldin, Carson Goldin, Cooper Matney and Aiden Short. She is also survived by her brother Willard Christenson and wife Elda Christenson of Ridgefield, Wa and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. The service will be Friday September 16 2010, at 10 am at Evergreen Hills Memorial. Deacon Carl Anderson will officiate. The pall bearers are Richard Lasher, Donald Lasher, Charles Ball, Michael Nichols, Travis Matney and Trevor Matney. Visitation will be available at Evergreen Memorial on Thursday September 15 between the hours of 12pm to 9pm. One of Christine's greatest treasures in life was the love for her family. If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. -anonymous
