Anthony Christian Tarnoski

Anthony entered into the arms of His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 13, 2025. He will be remembered for his fun-loving and outgoing personality. He had a truly infectious sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew him. Tony attended New Heights Church throughout his life and became a Christian at a young age. His parents are eternally grateful to New Heights, as well as the staff at King’s Way Christian Schools, where Tony attended since he was in preschool. True to his namesake, Tony Gwynn, Tony maintained a lifelong passion for baseball starting with Little League at five years old. At age 11, he began playing club baseball. His freshman and sophomore years of high school, he worked hard to earn a place on the varsity squad as a teammate to his brother, Derek. Tony played nearly every position on the field, including pitcher, infield, and outfield, but was best known for his tireless work as a catcher. He will be long remembered by his coaches and teammates for his rambunctious spirit and love for the game. His family has fond memories of playing Wiffle Ball in the backyard with Tony. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing, pickle ball, and Wii Sports with his brothers and parents. Accompanying his family to amusement parks including Disneyland and Magic Mountain proved especially exciting to him as he had a special affinity for roller coasters and thrill rides. Throughout his years, Tony was always surrounded by a large group of friends. Whether thrifting, playing spike ball, making runs to the Winco bulk candy bins, or hanging out around a campfire, he was always happiest when hanging out with his buddies. Tony is survived by his parents, Steve and Michelle Tarnoski; brothers, Nolan and Derek Tarnoski; maternal grandmother, Diane Lee; maternal grandfather, Carl (Linda) Lee; paternal grandmother, LaJuan Tarnoski; aunt and uncle, Stacy and Carlos Molina; cousins, Will and Greyson Molina; great aunt, Karen (Randy) Girone, and second cousin, Sheila (Travis) Smith. He also is survived by a wide circle of friends and teammates who will deeply miss his friendship and laughter. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Bill Tarnoski. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11:00 am at New Heights Church, 7913 NE 58th Ave, Vancouver, WA, followed by a reception.
