Addie Marie Neal

On the evening of November 26th, 2018, our angel got her wings and went home to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Addie was born with Cystic Fibrosis and fought a long battle like a warrior. Even though our hearts were not ready, it was time for her to fly with the angels. Addie received a double lung transplant in 2010 at Stanford that gave her 8 more wonderful years. Addie was born and raised in Vancouver, WA where she spent most of her life. She graduated from Mountain View High School in 2003. She spent time in Temecula, CA and her travels took her to Canada, Montana, the Dakotas, Texas, Hawaii, Kentucky, New York and her favorite trip was to Paris, France. Addie also loved going to the Oregon coast and being on the beach. During her youth, she was a terrific ice skater, winning 1st place in state competitions seven times. Her family and friends loved watching her fly around the ice rink. Addie felt strongly about her family and was loved dearly. She was very close with her parents who stood by her side through every obstacle she faced. She had an amazing and strong bond with her brother, Colby. Her parents and brother were by her side constantly in the hospital. Addie's boyfriend, Travis Woods, gave her a stepson, Matthew, whom she adored and he loved her. She was a loving and proud "bonus" mom to him. Her service dog, Roxy, meant the world to her and was her support during their 12 great years together. Addie made lifelong friends with many of the amazing staff at Kaiser. Her family is grateful for their tremendous loving care and will always be thankful. She had an amazing ability to create strong bonds and became fast friends with others and yet made everyone feel special. Addie's most recent job was at Olive Garden by Vancouver Mall. She said her co-workers were the most caring, loving people she had ever worked with. They took great care of her and she loved them like family. Addie volunteered as much as possible with Donate Life NW and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She received the Volunteer of the Year award in 2012 from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Addie had the greatest laugh, the best heart and touched so many lives. She is survived by her parents, Tom and Louise; her brother, Colby and his wife, Jess; her grandfather, Alfred Neal; her boyfriend, Travis Woods and her stepson, Matthew; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Her memories will always be cherished by her family and friends. We will miss her dearly and are thankful that she can now fly with her wings and "breathe" without effort. We know that she is dancing with the angels and her friend, Alyssa, who was waiting for her in heaven.
